09/2010 BIG TREE is a collaboration with jeweller Melissa Hunt.
It comprises a range of nine individually hand pierced silver charms presented in a bucolic countryside scene.

The range of silver charms designed by Melissa Hunt consists of nine separate creatures that are set in an
illustrated tree and meadow designed by Tommy Penton. Melissa handcuts the silhouette of each character
in silver, which are then returned into the illustration. This collaboration results in a beautifully designed card that
contains high quality jewellery to be worn by both men and women.

“This work was done in the Sculpture Gardens at MoMA, New York. The fast, fluid
sketch work was an exercise in drawing – without questioning what was being drawn.
Sketching is often the best bit of any creative thought process; so this piece is kept
as close as possible to the spirit of the first marks made on the paper.”
The Work is
Printed over 25 panels.

Here is the 10ft high Gibson Sculpture, before collection to head down to the Thames. Used
fiberglass paints and was like mixing glue, strong fumes and had half cut Spanish onions spread
about the studio to help the problem!

06/2008 Started in 2005 and the Book Tate to Tate by Jonathan Cape is out.
Amazed, no problem, publisher was golden, they kepted the same size, layout, colour, just a change
of cover and added Walking Companion Guide by a good friend Brian Parker.
One long illustration over 68 pages. A visual walk along the South Bank from Vauxhall Bridge to the
Millenium Bridge. Taking nearly two years to put together, elements were drawn seperatly before
colour and design implemented on the mac. Shown here are some rough layouts next to finished work.
